Moon Time
Time is from the moon.
That’s what I’ve always said.
And if you told me otherwise
I’d probably check your head.
I always say five minutes,
but what I mean is ten.
Then twenty flies around the room
and oops I’m “late” again.
“Late” is for those people
who are good at watching clocks.
Meanwhile my brain is negotiating
with the seams in my socks.
One thought becomes a forest.
The hours forget their place.
I only meant to tie my shoes…
Time wandered off in space.
But I like being on moon time
though others say it’s wrong.
We move to different rhythms here
and sing each other’s songs.
Moon time is wandering
through a world of the misunderstood.
With dragons and fairies and sorcerers
who pay for things with good.
